on. Mission is D3 objectives, objectives are placed 2 on Angels side
1 on Necrons
So 2 objectives are in
font of the angels, Meph hides behind the Vindicator. Las razor and
pred take shooting positions and are able to hold left objective.
Rhino Meph and Vindi are ready to go for necron Objective.

Necrons Deploy in a
line, CCB and Immortals are close to the objective on their side.
(Objective is in the terrain on the right) Wraiths are ready to fly
right down the centre and give cover the Immortals on the left. Both
Immortal squads have a cryptek with a lance in the squad.
Annihilation Barges give cover to the Stalker. CCB get cover from the
terrain.
Turn 1 Angels
Moment
Necrons use solar
pules. ( makes it night fight for angels) Angels right flank moves
right for the right hand immortals. Rhino go flat out and pops smoke,
Razorback moves 12, Vindi moves 12 Meph flies and hides behind the
vindi.
Right flank moves
forward 6. towards the objective.
Shooting
Right flank razor
lights up an Annihilation Barge but fails to do damage with the
assault cannon. Pred shots and explodes lit up Annihilation Barge.
Vindi shots and glances the CCB, CCB fails his cover save and I roll
6 on the glance! Necron open top rules means its a wreck! (bad luck
Specks)
Turn 1 Necrons
Movment
Wraiths move right up
towards the angels left flank towards the Pred. Left flank Immortals
move slightly forward. Right flank Immortals move back 4. Overlord
moves towards the Rhino. Stalker moves towards the Rhino as does the
Annihilation Barge.
Shooting
Stalker shoots and the
Rhino with 2 heat ray shots misses one pens with the other but the
Rhino makes cover saves. (it is however now going to make any more
Necron shooting against it twinlinked!) Right flank Immortals + Lance
shoot at the Rhino, with all the TL shooting the Rhino Takes 1 pen
from the lance and 4 glances from the Tesla and promptly explodes!
Lance from left flank Immortals stuns right flank Razorback.
Assaults
Wraiths a temp to
assault the Pred but are out of range.
Turn 2 Angels
Movement
Vindi Moves so it can
shoot at the Wraiths, Meph flies towards Wraiths, 10 man squad moves
towards Immortals. Right flank Razor Left flank moves back a few
inches. Left flank Razor is stunned.
Shooting
Fails spectacularly and
nothing happens.
Assaults
Here is were the game
starts to go dice crazy. Meph charges the Wraiths rolls for his
leadership test for both re-roll and str 10, he get str 10 but rolls
snake eyes and takes a wound. He rolls double 6s for re-rolls and
takes a wound. He then became initiative 1 because of the whip coils
and loses 1 wound to rending Wraiths. In return he kills 1 Wraith
base as he instant kills via double their toughness. Because of the 2
perils he has taken he loses combat by 1. flees! Gets caught and
because of shall Know no fear has to take 1 more save.... and fails
it!. Meph is now on 1 wound. 3 he did him self =P.
The 10 Marines charge
into the Immortals kill 3 one gets back up and they stay in combat.
Even though they had furious charge they still failed pretty hard. 1
Immortal gets back up.

Turn 2 Necrons
Movment
Stalker move into the
right flank razors face. Left flank Immortals more towards left Angel
objective. Overlord moves towards to Immortal, Marine combat.
Annihilation Barge moves towards the Vindi.
Shooting
Left flank Immortals
stun the left flank Razorback. Stalker shoots right flank razorback
with 2 melta
shots point blank and
explode it. Annihilation Barge fails to do any damage to the Vindi.
Assaults
Meph loses his last
wound to the Wraiths rending. Stalker assaults the Priest and his
unit who were in the Razorback, nothing dies. Overlord charges into
the combat with the Immortals, 2 melta Marines die to 1 Immortals
Marines lose combat but stay.

Turn 3 Angels
Moment
Vindi moves further
away from the Wraiths. Preds moves 6 towards the board edge.
Shooting
Pred shoots and
explodes the last Annihilation Barge. The explosions kills 1 Marine
><. Vindi shoots at the Wraiths but scatters off.
Assaults
Marines win the combat
with the Immortals and the Overlord by 1 (the Overlord misses all his
attacks!) The Necrons then fail the Leadership with an roll of 11 and
run!. (some bad luck from Specks, before this happened he should have
had this game in the bag)
Stalker combat does
nothing.
Turn 3 Necron
Movement
Wraiths move towards
the left flank Razorback. Left flank Immortals shuffle towards the
objective. Right flank Immortals and Overlord flee off the table.
Shooting
Immortals do nothing
Assaults
Wraiths charge and
wreck the Razorback.
Turn 4 Angels
Movement
Marines move towards
the left flank Immortals, Pred moves 6 away from the wraiths and
Vindi shuffles towards the board edge. Marines that were in combat
with the Immortals and Overlord make sure the stay within 6 of the
fleeing unit.
Shooting
Pred manages to kill 1
Wraith with a Las shot. Vindi wiffs.
Assaults
The left flank Marines
charge the Immortals and kill 1..... and the Immortals fail their
leadership test on an 11 again!!!! (wow that is horrid dice rolls by
Specks) and are cut down!. At best Specks can draw the game unless he
kills everything left on the table.
The Stalker combat does
nothing

Turn 4 Necrons
Movement
Wraiths move towards
the left flank Marines
Shooting
Nothing left to shoot
Assaults
The Stalker kills the
Priest and wins the combat, Marines flee..(so far this game, more
leadership test have been failed then passed) Stalker consolidates
towards the right flank Objective on the Necrons side.
The Wraiths flop and do
nothing! to the Marines. (with 18 str 6 rending attacks those marines
should have lost at least 3 men) The Marines do 1 wound to the
Wraiths and win combat. The Wraiths take 1 fearless test and take a
wound.
At this point we pretty
much wrap the game up. The fleeing Marines squad rallied and took the
right flank objective. The stalker was tied up with the 10 man squad
with the fist, and the Wraiths were in combat with the left flank
marines. The Vindi and Pred were untouched.
The Necrons had no
troops and no way to get to all the objectives.
All in all it was a
pretty bad game, dice were so bad that it wasn’t a very good
representation of what the Necrons can do!. Oh well the next report
will be Necrons vs Grey Knights!

ReplyDeleteBad luck dices, of course, but IMO 2 troops and 2 Barges is a waste. More troops (3 or 4, 8 models each) and just 1 barge probably would have performed better.
